Opi dating a royal nail polish
Royal blue should be a brighter and deeper blue than this. The formula is goopy and hard to dry even with my trusted Sally Hansen insta-dri topcoat... I'm an OPI fan through and through, but this colour has disappointed me.
I did dutifully waited for 5 minutes between each coat, and it just didn't dry properly! My initial reaction when I wore it was "I feel like a smurf".
I'.'s Dating A Royal is a rich cobalt-royal blue polish that makes my nails - and fingers - do just that. Just take a look at those swatches - we have in sunlight and in natural light. Mind you, this glossy shine is without a topcoat, since Dating A Royal is a crelly polish. Look at how the nail polish catches the sunlight in one dazzling dot!
I had opacity in two coats, though the first coat was watery and streaked on some of the nails.
Also typical of a jelly, it's got a gorgeous, almost vinyl-shiny finish.
The first coat is streaky; this is the case with every jelly I've ever used, and this polish is no exception.
But I didn't beep it to give into a proper one poleaxe so I put the least polishes in the direction of the nails rather than at the means. A stipulation designed that sets girlfriends spinning.
For all the hype online, I really wish I could like it. When I put on the first coat, I did a "Oh my, this is not what I like..." it was a streaky hot mess.
Been trying out blue polishes recently, and I stumbled upon this to feed my blue fetish.
I expected it to be a rich navy blue, but it is a disappointment.
but I put on a second coat, and the color began to even out. I would say do 3 coats to be safe, but I use thick coats, and wait for them to dry in between, and 2 was actually enough for me.
Some nail polishes make your nails and fingers look better. I've done some basic freehand ombre nail art that even a beginner can pull off, but first, here are swatches of Dating A Royal, from O. This is the "Scrangiest" my irregular, shapeless, stained nails have ever looked :) But this is part of a nail art challenge, so I had to go and ruin that stunning finish with my shenanigans.
